Kalvary Mount View Point

At a distance of 10 Kms from Idukki & 55 Kms from Munnar, Kalvari Mount, is an important tourist place in Idukki District. The Kalvari Mount Viewpoint offers a charming view of Idukki Reservoir from Idukki to Ayyappancovil on one side and panoramic view of Kamakshy and Mariyapuram villages on the other side. It is one of the most scenic places in Idukki and a must visit place in the district. The view point is situated near Thankamani Junction on Thodupuzha - Puliyanmala highway.

Cheruthoni is the largest and highest gravity dam in Kerala

Cheruthoni Dam

The Cheruthoni Dam, located in Idukki District, Kerala, India, is a 138m tall concrete gravity dam. This dam was constructed as part of the Idukki Hydroelectric Project along with two other dams at Idukki and Kulamavu. Cheruthoni dam is one of the major attractions in Idukki.

Anchuruli Tunnel

The Anchuruli waterfall and tunnel is located in Idukki district. The main attraction of this destination is a man-made tunnel constructed to drain the water overflowing from the Idukki reservoir and the waterfall. It is 10 km away from Kattappana. It was built during the British time. The name Anchuruli is derived from the 5 small hills which are submerged in the reservoir and they look like inverted vessels, that is, anchu (meaning 5) and uruli (meaning vessels). This tunnel is built in 1974 by the Kerala State Electricity Board.

Kalyanathandu View Point

Kalyanathandu is a beautiful hill located at a distance of 11 km from spice hut . From the top, you will get a amazing view of Idukki Dam. A perfect location for trekking as the trek through the lovely, dark and deep woods is quite an experience. There still lie the remnants of arches and huts built by the forest department. You can reach the top in a jeep or by foot through the rugged road.
